Maria Bittner - Pattern ParadiseHi, I’m Maria – wife, mother, favorite aunt, and oh yes, crochet lover! I’ve been crocheting since I was about 10 and designing/writing patterns since 2012. I design all types of patterns, however, my favorites are baby and kids apparel. I am mostly self-taught. I read, research and play with techniques until I get them right. I love that splendid feel when you take yarn and a hook to create something wearable or decorative!

Elizabeth DyeHi!  My name is Elizabeth.  I’ve been crocheting for almost 10 years. My mom and grandma tried to teach me when I was young.  I just never could remember how! About 10 yrs ago I moved in with my mom when she had multiple surgeries to help care for her and my grandma. They taught me again and then my grandma showed me how to do HER version of the corner to corner afghan. I quickly got bored with this small sampling. So I bought a book that had 63 blocks filled with different stitches and I taught myself to read patterns!!!

A couple of years ago, I started having people ask for “cute” animal and character hats. I discovered Heidi from Snappy Tots…. And my knowledge and understanding exploded!!! It has changed my life and given me a personal therapy of sorts! The best thing… All the totally awesome friends I have met! The chance to help others grow in this art! The joy that crochet gives so many! Not only those that do it… Those that receive and treasure that one of a kind work of art!!!!

Becky Dirlam/Grammy's CreationsHi! My name is Becky, AKA “Grammy Dirlam”. I’m a Mom to 6, grammy to 6, with a 7th due in early May.  My grandmother taught me to crochet as a child to help keep me calm on summer visits, and I must say it worked well. Over the years, I started to explore the stitch combinations which were always so fun. I Love making things for people.

About 3 years ago, my husband and I gave up our adult care home and moved from the Seattle area to Eden, North Carolina. It has been a process but we settled in, and now I eat sleep and breathe the crochet world. I design, write patterns and have recently added blogging to the list of activities. I would not trade the connections I have made for anything because there is so much potential for growth and learning. Each day is a new beginning so what do we start today?
