I am totally confused by your website. How do you get to the free patterns. I had clicked on a houndstooth scarf pattern I had found from Pinterest and have not been able to find any patterns, much less the pattern I wanted. Please help.

Now that the school term has ended, I hope you will be able to release the pattern for that wonderful hat! I’m crocheting several chemo caps for my sister and this one would be perfect. She has asked for a sun hat and I have been stuck about how to crochet around the millinery wire so the brim will stand out. P.S.: I am the graduate academic coordinator in the Institute of Molecular Biophysics at Florida State University. It’s very gratifying to see you working so hard to finish and yet still have time for your business. Congratulations!

Thank you Dale for the compliment. Graduating from Auburn has been one of the most satisfying accomplishments in my life and I’ve certainly learned a lot about myself along the process!
The pattern is currently being tested, so I hope it won’t be too much longer for the release.
How wonderful of you to make hats for your sister. I know she appreciates the time it takes for you to make them. I also pray for her healing and hope she recovers completely.

How do you get your hat to be stiff enough to have a form? I have always wondered how to do this…

I use millinery wire.

That’s such a beautiful hat!!! Congrats on winning the contest! You are very talented, and it’s even more impressive that you did all that beautiful crocheting and designing while tackling your college degree! I do hope you’ll publish the pattern. I can’t wait to make some for me and my sisters! Also, good luck with your ELK Studio. With your obvious talent, it will surely be a success. And good luck as you finish your last semester at school, too.

Bernice,
Thank you so much for your kind thoughts. When I sat down to start making this hat, I had no idea that it would turn out as good as it did and then really didn’t know if I would win! I am so excited and thrilled to have this opportunity to show off my work. I also didn’t think anyone would be that interested in the pattern. You can check out my Facebook page to stay connected if you would like! The link is on my blog.

Gloria,
Thank you so much for the kind words! With school, I haven’t had much time myself for designing and I’ve been having to work on my orders tor the hat. I had no idea it would really take off and be popular! It’s a good problem to have though!

I am sorry the hat pattern has not been released, and I shall give it some consideration to publish it in the future. I am currently in my last semester of college and have been extremely busy with school and trying to keep up with individual crochet orders.
Thank you for your interest and I appreciate your comments!
