Seasonal Bliss Beanie and Headband Patterns are Now Available!

After coordinating with my testers, multiple edits of the patterns, scheduling the photo shoot, editing the photos and loading it up to the store, I can finally breath again.  Whew!  It makes me exhausted just to think about it, but there’s no replacing the feeling of accomplishment to finally get a pattern ready to go!

Tiara has been my model since the beginning, and I love working with her.  She really makes the photo shoot one of the easiest parts of getting the pattern ready because there’s not much editing other than adding my logo.  I’m only going to show the beanie and headband photos for now but I’ll tell ya, the other Seasonal Bliss pictures of my signature hat are stunning!

ImageI’ve gotten the patterns loaded on my Ravelry store so far, and I hope to have them on Etsy and Crafty within the next couple of days!  I’ve listed the patterns at an introductory price of $3.00 each, or you can buy my Seasonal Bliss e-book at a discount price of $5.50.  The code to use for the discounts is BLISS and is reflected during the checkout process.  The special pricing will last through 09/14/2013.  Don’t forget that if you buy the Seasonal Bliss headband pattern, you will receive a free copy of a headband pattern written up with my signature Hounds Tooth pattern!  You can have easy access to the patterns on Ravelry by adding them to your favorites!

Have a fantastic day and be blessed!

Enjoying a Few Moments of Crocheting a Summer Beach Hat

Last week I barely had time to think with 2 tests, so when I got home this afternoon I wrote my paper and decided to go outside by the pool and crochet for a little while.  I had started this hat on Saturday and managed to finish it up today!

Canary Yellow Summer Beach

I think this is my favorite color so far!  I can’t wait until I have the time to make one for myself!

Happy crocheting to everyone!  God Bless you!

Counting down to graduation….19 days!

I’ve added my hat to “Working on it Wednesday” at Crochet at Play.  You can check out other works in progress and great projects!

It’s Spring Break and time to Crochet a Beach Hat!

It’s been a  great week so far!  I’ve been on spring break and have been able to sit down and crochet a little.  Not as much as I like because my husband took the week off and we have been spring cleaning the house.  Now things are more organized, neat and tidy (including my crochet room!)

In my earlier post, Lines by ELK – Summer Hat, I talked about using craft wire on the outer edge.  After some research, I discovered millinery wire is the real stuff used on hats.  My shipment arrives tomorrow and can hardly wait to try it out!  Has anyone ever used this type of hat wire?  If so, what has been your experience?  Good or bad?

Until I receive the wire, I thought I would work on another hat but this time I wanted to try out my pattern for a child size hat.  I really liked the way it turned out.  Here are the results of the toddler hat:

I turned the hat inside out and the curled hat resulted.  I think I like that look better and don’t plan on using the wire on this hat.

Here is a sample of what the hat will look like completed.  (I used a different wire but will probably change it because it is not holding as well).

This hat definitely goes into my beach accessories category!

Have a blessed day everyone!

Lines by ELK – Summer Hat

School has kept me busy so there hasn’t been much time for crocheting or designing this week.  Last week I made the Lines by ELK hat and thought that a summer version would be great.  I made this hat using Cascade Ultra Pima 100 % cotton.  I love the soft feel it gives and the colors are so radiant. I’ve never used any type of wiring for a hat but knew that I wanted the brim to stand out so I asked my husband if he had anything in his shop.  Emory came back in with some craft wire that worked brilliantly!  I think I’m keeping this one for myself.

The Patterns Keep Coming!

Boot Cuffs Boot Cuffs

So after many hours of “wrestling” with my yarn, I think I finally created the boot cuff pattern I was attempting to make.  Joining the cuff without a break in the fpdc ((front post double crochet) was the hardest part.  I am sure I understand how I did it, but have you ever tried to write out a pattern and wonder if it will make sense to other people?

Before I post it on Ravelry, I need a name for the cuff.  Any suggestions?  Creating a name have never been my true gift.  I would rather spend time just creating and crocheting than “wasting” time thinking up a name.  Help!

Happy Crocheting and God Bless to Everyone!!
